PURPOSE:To purify waste water by allowing waste water to flow zigzag in the vertical direction by plural rectification baffle plates vertically arranged, blowing out air foam from the lower part of each partition, and sphering oil scum which is separated. CONSTITUTION:Plural rectification baffle plates 7', 7'', and 7''' arranged vertically and having alternately an clearance at the upper and the lower part are provided in a horizontal vessel 1 to allow waste water flowing into the vessel to flow zigzag in the vertical direction, and diffusers 8, 8', 8'', and 8''' for blowing out air foam are arranged at the lower part of each partition separated by the rectification baffle plate. The waste water in the partition is circulated by the air lift effect of the air foam blown out from the diffuser, the oil in the waste water in aerated, flocculated, sphered, and separated, the waste water successively purified is transferred to the succeeding partition, and finally the separated sphered oil scum is retained by baffle plates 9 and 10. The purified waste water is discharged from a discharge pipe 11.
