PURPOSE:To improve the operability by providing an adjusting member for adjusting a welding pressure of a stud through a spring, and also adjusting the welding pressure to match a scale member placed in the rear end of a body. CONSTITUTION:A spring 19 for pressing a cylindrical body 5 in the direction of the tip is installed between two spring seats 20, 21. The spring seat 21 is slid in the axial direction by a spring adjusting screw 22 which has been screwed into the rear end of a cylindrical housing 1, and an adjust a resiliency of the spring 19, namely, a welding pressure to a stud. The spring adjusting screw 22 can be set to a desired welding pressure to match a scale of a knurling tool provided on the outside periphery of a scale member 23 installed to the rear end of the cylindrical body 5. Accordingly, in accordance with a length of the stud to be welded, an installing position of the stud can be adjusted, and also a constant welding pressure can be held. According to this method, the operability of welding is improved. |
