PURPOSE:To provide a continuous casting device for a steel plate with which an ingot having an excellent surface characteristic is easily obtd. by providing electricity conducting pipes to the respective lower parts of a pair of side walls forming a molten metal basin together with a pair of cooling rolls and constituting said pipes to permit the supply of high-frequency current thereto so that a molten steel sticks always stably to the outside peripheral surfaces of the cooling rolls. CONSTITUTION:The molten steel 5 supplied into the molten steel basin 23 sticks onto the outside peripheral surface of the cooling rolls 1 and solidifies. A pair of the solidified shells 4' formed thereon are press-welded to each other nearest the outside peripheral surface of the rolls 1 as the rolls 1 rotate to form a sheet of a steel plate 4. The steel plate 4 is continuously delivered vertically downward. The high-frequency current is supplied to the electricity conducting pipes 6 during this time, then an alternating magnetic field is generated around each pipe 6 and an AC magnetic field H is generated in the arrow direction around the pipe 6 as shown in the figure. Eddy current is then generated in the molten steel 5 toward the rear to the front of the plane of the figure and the electromagnetic force F is generated in the arrow direction in the molten steel 5. The molten steel near the inside surface in the lower part of the side gate plate 2b detaches from the surface of the plate 2b and the end thereof is not connected to the solidified shell 2' sticking to the inside surface of the plate 2b. The shell 4' is thus always stuck to the roll surface. |
