Device for stabilising the oxygen content in rooms with a controlled atmosphere by means of room pressure-balancing accumulators without auxiliary energy

To obtain a required low oxygen content of down to 1.3% by volume in rooms with a controlled atmosphere, for example for storing fruit in gas-tight storage rooms, a device is required which balances the room pressure relative to the external air atmosphere in a gas-tight room pressure balancing accumulator down to less than 0.3 mbar. The ingress of external air caused by the switching difference of the cooling thermostat or by changes in air pressure is reduced or entirely avoided by a room pressure-balancing accumulator. The room pressure-balancing accumulator consisting of PVC-coated plastic fabrics fills and empties without auxiliary energy. The differential pressure from the storage room to the external air is used directly for varying the accumulator volume. The accumulator is designed as a structural space, for example as a cube or oblong, and it can automatically alter its volumetric capacity by crumpling due to a highly flexible crumpling zone. The room pressure balancing accumulator is connected to the storage room via a pipe and, for maintenance reasons, is located outside the storage room, preferably above the cold store door. To obtain a highly effective sensitivity, the deadweight is preferably compensated via rollers with ball bearings.
