A trap for water voles or moles has a vertical catching pipe (10), chute pipes (16, 18) which run obliquely upwards being supported by the peripheral wall of said catching pipe, at a distance from the base (12). The chute pipes run, via curved pipe sections (20, 22), into horizontal entry sections, with the result that the trap can replace the section of a burrow (30). <IMAGE>
