PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic recording medium having an excellent electromagnetic conversion characteristic, running durability and mechanical property by providing the 1st magnetic layer contg. a thermoplastic or thermosetting resin as a binder on a non-magnetic substrate and providing the 2nd layer contg. a compd. which can be crosslinked or polymerized by the irradiation of radiations on said layer. CONSTITUTION:The 1st magnetic layer consisting of the mixture composed of the thermoplastic resin or thermosetting resin and ferromagnetic powder is provided on the non-magnetic substrate (polyethylen terephthalate film and other film, etc.). The 2nd magnetic layer contg. the compd. such as the mixture composed of urethane acrylate oligomer and acrylate monomer which can be crosslinked or polymerized by radiations is provided on said layer and electron rays (or beta rays or gamma rays) are irradiated thereon. The magnetic recording medium having the excellent electromagnetic conversion characteristic, running durability and mechanical property is thus obtd.
