PURPOSE:To reduce the capacity of driving means for traveling a truck by holding a steel pipe by means of an insertion truck and an auxiliary truck while carrying the steel pipe by means of only the insertion truck or two trucks. CONSTITUTION:An insertion truck 11 is provided with clamp means 13 for securing a steel pipe A firmly, means 14 for holding the steel pipe A rotatably, means 15 for mounting/supporting the steel pipe A and means for traveling the insertion truck 11. While the auxiliary truck 12 is provided with means 39 for mounting/supporting the steel pipe A, means 40 for holding the steel pipe A rotatably and means for traveling the auxiliary truck 12. Upon change of the length of the steel pipe, the auxiliary truck 12 will adjust the waiting position such that the steel pipe A is normally fixed when inserting into machining system but travels together with the insertion truck 11 as required.
