PURPOSE:To prevent a recording speed from being lowered, by a method wherein a value corresponding to the charged state of predetermined ones of a series of ink jet droplets to be charged is stored, and a signal impressed on a charging electrode is corrected on the basis of the stored value. CONSTITUTION:The pressure or absence of charging is stored into a shift register 20 on the basis of inputs of a recording command signal a1 and a clock signal a2. Supposing that a droplet Qn is a droplet to be charged, signals inputted to a ROM21 are a signal '000' indicative of the charged state of three droplet in the vicinity of the droplet Qn and a signal '10' indicative of a deflection signal for the droplet Qn itself, and a combined signal '00010' is made to be an address signal for a corrected voltage value stored in the ROM21. Accordingly, primary effect strain due to interference and distortion due to electrostatic forces with respect to the droplet to be charged and corrected, and recording free of positional errors can be performed without any lowering in the recording speed. |
