In a holding device for a pin-like locking part in an opening in the wall of the casing of a hydrodynamic torque converter, positive engagement is established via corresponding circumferential surfaces of the locking parts and an axial open assembly groove is made in one circumferential surface while a locking nose projects radially from the other circumferential surface. The pin-like locking part can be moved out of a release position - in which the locking nose and the assembly groove coincide - and introduced axially into the other locking part and, after the locking nose has emerged from the assembly groove, rotated into a blocking position in which a stop face of the locking nose rests against a counterstop face of the relevant locking part. The locking parts have further stop or counterstop faces for complete mutual axial fixing in the blocking position. In order to be able to bring the locking pin into the blocking position only when required but otherwise keep it ready for operation at all times on the converter casing, the assembly groove opens into a sloping groove, the two ends of which are offset relative to one another in such a way that, in the blocking position, the locking nose is in the region of one end of the groove and the pin-like locking part is shifted into a floating position when the locking nose is in the region of the other end of the groove.
