In the case of a charge arrangement for ammunition 10 in cartridges and having a propulsion charge casing 11, a propulsion charge detonator 13 which is mounted in the base 12 of the casing, and a secondary charge 15 which surrounds the propulsion charge detonator 13 in an annular shape, a propulsion charge 17 is provided which consists of granular powder, is surrounded coaxially by a transmission charge consisting of tubular powder 16 and rests directly against the inner wall of the propulsion charge casing 11. As a result of this charge construction, projectiles 14 which project a very great distance into the propulsion charge casing 11 can be composed in a particularly simple manner. <IMAGE>
