A light-guide arrangement for the transmission of high intensity laser radiation for a laser endoscope is described, which arrangement includes an optical fibre (10) of substantially constant cross-section. The light emergence end of the optical fibre is surrounded by a pressed-on tubular sleeve (24) of dielectric material, especially quartz glass, which virtually does not absorb the radiation to be transmitted. The sleeve (24) is fixed with respect to the optical fibre (10) by a shrunk-on tube (28). A focusing lens (18a) is mounted on the sleeve (24) by direct fusion or a thin-walled small metal tube (22), which lens reduces the divergence of the emerging radiation and is preferably designed in a rod shape, so that it includes a cylindrical part acting as a light guide. <IMAGE>
