A urethral occlusion device (1) for use by females is generally shaped so as to contact the anterior vaginal wall and to extend out of the vaginal opening and being particularly shaped so as to be adapted to cause occlusion of the urethra (12) on being urged against the anterior vaginal wall above the urethral opening.
