Bis(4-isocyanatophenoxy)alkanes having from 2 to 6 carbon atoms in the alkane radical, a process for their preparation by phosgenation of the parent diamines or adducts thereof with hydrogen chloride or carbon dioxide, and their use for the preparation of polyurethane plastics by the isocyanate polyaddition process.
