PURPOSE:To enable whirl-stop of a thrust washer by simple constitution, by a method wherein a thickness of a pair of half-round thrust washers is made to differ from each other and depths of half-round ring grooves are made to differ from each other. CONSTITUTION:Half-round ring grooves 16, 17 running along an opening part of a piercing-through hole 13 of a shaft are provided respectively on end faces of an engine block 11 and bearing cap 12. A half-split shape thrust bearing 18 consists of a pair of half-round ringlike thrust washers 19, 20 which are fitted respectively to the insides of both the half-round ring grooves 16, 17. Both the thrust washers 19, 20 possess thicknesses T1, T2 (T1>T2) which are different from each other. In addition to the above, depths D1, D2 of both the half-round ring grooves 16, 17 are different (D1>D2) from each other by amount of a difference (T1-T2) between the thicknesses of the thrust washers 19, 20. |
