Arrangement for mounting a sealing clamp on a packaging receptacle, especially a sausage skin, with inclusion of a flexible cord element, especially a loop of twine. A device is provided for automatically inserting a flexible cord element into the sealing point and/or into the sealing clamp guideway leading to the sealing point in each case. A flexible strip of flat material is used as supply for the cord elements, on which strip a multiplicity of cord elements are successively attached in the same position. The device for inserting the cord element comprises a guide for the strip of flat material and, in the said guide, a deflection for lifting one end of a cord element so that it can be taken hold of. The deflection is arranged directly on the sealing point and/or the sealing clamp guideway in such a way that the part of the raised end of the cord element which is to be inserted into the seal projects into the guideway of the sealing clamps. The deflection is advantageously very sharp, so that the end of the cord element to be enclosed is guided as close to the sealing point as possible and also so that any adhesion which may have occurred between the cord element and the backing strip can be overcome.
