<p>In a structure for supporting and guiding a vertically-movable pane in a side window of a motorvehicle body, the two posts (3) and the cross piece (4), which define the aperture of the window, form part of a support frame comprising two sheet metal half shells (7,8) which are joined together and have two mating flat edges which define a single tongue (11) arranged along the side edges and the upper edge of the window aperture in a plane which is substantially parallel to the general plane of the pane. Furthermore, the two posts (3) and the cross piece (4) are each provided with a gasket (12) for supporting and guiding the front edge, the rear edge and the upper edge, respectively, of the pane. The guide gasket (12) is secured within a channel of intermediate support member (20) which is, in its term, secured to the support frame. By this arrangement, the operations required for the manufacture of the structure are simple and economical, the aerodynamic characteristics of the car are improved and the noise during running is reduced.</p> |
