MODIFIED EPOXY (METH)ACRYLATE RESIN

摘要

PURPOSE:The titled lowly viscous resin which has primary hydroxyl groups of excellent reactivity and can give a cured product of excellent flexibility, prepared by reacting (meth)acrylic acid with a lactone-modified epoxy resin. CONSTITUTION:97-5pts.wt. hydroxyl-containing epoxy resin (e.g., Araldite 6071, a product of CIBA) with 3-95pts.wt. epsilon-caprolactone at about 100-240 deg.C in the presence of a catalyst such as tetrabutyl titanate to effect ring opening polymerization between the secondary hydroxyl group of the epoxy resin and epsilon-caprolactone. The obtained lactone-modified epoxy resin is reacted with (meth) acrylic acid to form a modified epoxy (meth)acrylate resin.
