WRITING TYPE DATA INPUT DEVICE

PURPOSE:To facilitate the incorporation of a sensor and also to prevent the breakage of the sensor due to impact, by attaching the sensor to an elastic member of two directions different in the outer circumference of a writing shaft. CONSTITUTION:An X-axis direction distortion gauge 50x is fixed by adhesion to the outer faces of a pair of plate springs 52 and 52 positioned at the right and left sides of a writing shaft 46 when a writing tool is held obliquely so that a clip part is set at the upper side. While a Y-axis direction distortion gauge 50y is fixed by adhesion to the outer faces of a pair of plate springs 52 and 53 at the other side. Both gauges 50x and 50y contain a silicon semiconductor film 54 coated on the outer face of a flexible substrate 53 adhered to the springs 52 and 52. Then the circumferential displacement of the shaft 46 which is caused by the writing actions with a tip (writing chip 46a) of the shaft 46 having contact with the form surface is detected at a writing type input part by means of both gauges 50x and 50y via spring 52 and 52.
