PURPOSE:To produce stably a coagulated latex without depositing scale of coagulate for a long time, by coagulating a polymer latex by dispersing it in a specified dispersing medium in which a coagulant is dispersed in the form of fine liquid drops. CONSTITUTION:A polymer latex obtained by, for example, emulsion polymerization and having a form of liquid drops 14 of a uniform diameter is fed to a coagulation tower 1 filled with a dispersing medium 7 comprising an organic solvent (e.g., hexane) which does not dissolve the polymer in the polymer latex, is insoluble or difficulty soluble in water and has a specific gravity different from those of the latex and the coagulant through a feed line 2 and a liquid drop formation apparatus 3 provided near the top of the tower and descended, while being dispersed, through the tower. At the dame time, a coagulant (e.g., NaCl) in the form of liquid drops 15 smaller than liquid drops 13 is fed thereto through a feed line 4 and a liquid drop formation apparatus 5 provided at the lower part of apparatus 3, and dispersed to effect a coagulation reaction between them by collision and uniting. The formed resinous polymer is discharged from a discharging line 10 and the coagulant is discharged as a water phase from an exit 6.
