PURPOSE:To prevent knocking from occurring in the captioned engine with two inlet ports, which have one closing valve at their each one end, by controlling the valves in such a manner that they are fully closed or partly closed when knocking occurs when the exhaust temperature exceeds the predetermined conditions. CONSTITUTION:In the captioned equipment, in which each cylinder is provided with both a high-speed type air inlet valve 1A having a large closing-time-lag and a low-speed type air inlet valve 1B having a small closing-time-lag and an intake port A in which the high-speed type air inlet valve 1A is interposed is provided with a closing valve 3 that closes in the low engine speed range and opens in the high engine speed range, both a knock sensor for detecting knocking and an exhaust temperature sensor for detecting an exhaust temperature are provided. When any knocking is detected from a knock sensor output, a three-way solenoid valve 11 is switched to the atmosphere introducing side via a control circuit, while the closing valve 3 is closed by a diaphragm equipment 9. Similarly, when the output signal or the exhaust temperature sensor exceeds the predetermined value, the closing valve 3 is controlled to be closed. |
