PURPOSE:To protect a magnetic disk to be damaged by scratch or the like even if the magnetic disk touches the control plate or guide plate by coating the surfaces of the control and guide plates facing the magnetic disk with the thin layers made of such rare metal as gold, platinum, or rhodium, or of alloy of these. CONSTITUTION:In the control plate 200 and guide plate 300 provided so as to mutually face magnetic disk 100 taking a prescribed distance in between, at least each surface thereof facing the magnetic disk 100 is coated with such rare metal as gold, platinum, or rhodium, or with alloy of these to form thin layers 201 and 301, respectively. As the surfaces of thin layers 201 and 301 are very smooth, even when the magnetic disk 100 touches these thin layers, the friction caused is very small, thereby giving no damage to the magnetic disk, and also since the material used for coating is superior in anticorrosion, the life of control plate 200 and that of guide plate can be extended.
