PURPOSE:To make a photosensitive body longer in life and reduce inside contamination of an electrostatic copying device, by cleaning the photosensitive body by pressure- contacting a cleaning blade with the body after exposing process and removing the cleaning blade from the body between the leading edge section and joined section of an image forming area of the body. CONSTITUTION:A cleaning blade 12 is pressure-contacted with a photosensitive body between the tailing edge section 10 of an image forming area and joining section 11 of the body after completing the exposure process and passed through the joining section 11 and the leading edge section 9 of the image forming area, to which the transferring process is performed. Thus the whole image forming area is cleaned. After again passing through the joining section 11 under the pressure-contacted condition, the cleaning blade 12 is separated from the photosensitive body between the joining section 11 and the leading edge section 9 of the image forming area. Since the cleaning blade itself has spring elasticity, it can follow well the uneven surface of the photosensitive body and, as the joining section which is difficult to be cleaned is cleaned twice per one sheet of copy, inside contamination of this copying device can be reduced. In addition, because of its high cleaning capability, electricity on the photosensitive body can be removed with slight lights after cleaning and the life of the photosensitive body can be maintained longer. |
