PURPOSE:To form a X-ray rotary carbon material to a cathode to which molybdenum, etc., are bonded powerfully by fixedly joining chlorine-containing vinyl resin particles on a surface of a carbon disk via a thin carbide layer, and calcining them in an inactive environment. CONSTITUTION:A compounding composition of polyvinyl chloride resin, etc., is applied on a surface of a carbon or graphite disk with use of a brush, and before it is solidified, vinyl chloride resin powders, etc., being chlorine-containing vinyl resin particles are uniformly sprayed and a solvent contained in the composition is vaporized, said composition providing a carbonated compound by calcining the composition itself is an inactive environment. Then, the composition so treated is calcined in an inactive environment to permit heat fusion to be produced among the chlorine-containing vinyl resin particles for forming a porous carbon layer, whereby a X-ray rotary carbon material to a cathode is yielded. Accordingly, when molybdenum and tungsten are subjected to spray coating onto a surface of the carbon material, the molybdenum and tungsten enter into voids in a porous layer for sharply reinforcing the adhesion, whereby the intensity of the X-rays can be improved. |
