PURPOSE:To prevent an original from missetting by specifying an area at the time of an editing mode while turning the original upwards, and displaying different original setting directions in an editing copying mode and a normal copying mode. CONSTITUTION:An autodocument feeder (ADF) 300 consists of an original feed ing part 301, a carrying part 302 and an inversion part 303 and has originals sensors SE6, SE7 between the feeding part 301 and the carrying belt 320 and between a switching guide 322 and the inversion part 303 respectively to control the carrying of an original on the basis of signals obtained from both the sensors SE6, SE7. The inversion part 303 inverting the original and returning it to the carrying part 302 is used for original inversion and editing copying in case of a both-side original. Since the original is turned upward to specify an area and then sent to the ADF under the status, the original turned upwards is sent to the inversion part 303 once to be inverted and then the inverted origi nal is positioned again on an original setting glass 16 in case of the editing/ copying. In addition, operation panels 330, 360 and a display part 380 for displaying the setting direction of the original are arranged on the upper surface of the ADF. |
