PURPOSE:To feed a substance easily and stably to a photosensitive body by the controlled quantity so as to be uniformly diffused without applying any stress to the photosensitive body by forming a member containing a substance preventing the crystallization on a position to be contacted with a developer in a developing device. CONSTITUTION:The substance such as copper for preventing the crystallization of a photosensitive body consisting of selenium or the like is fed easily and stably by the controlled quantity. In the developing device, a plate-like member 18 consisting of copper is formed over the outer periphery of a sleave 2 on the down side of a thickness regulating blade 15. The member 18 is arranged so that the developer regulated at its thickness by the blade 15 and carried on the sleeve 2 to the drum 9 side is contacted with the inside of the member 18. A magnetic brush is gradually slided on the member 18 to peel the member 18 to the brush side as copper powder and extremely finely granulated copper powder is carried to the drum 9 side together with the developer and adhered from the surface of the sleeve 2 to the drum 9. The feeding speed and quantity can be easily controlled by selecting the arrangement or size of the member 18 properly.
