An appliance is described, for example a lamp holder, for use in an electrical apparatus, for example an illumination device, the appliance being electrically connected to the apparatus. A part, for example a plug, is provided which is connected to the appliance and has means for detachable engagement with the apparatus as well as means which are connected to the appliance for its connection to electrical current. When the detachable connection to the apparatus is engaged, the electrical current is passed from the apparatus, through the detachable connection and the connection to the apparatus. |
