PURPOSE:To prevent the blue of ink and the weaving of recording paper by using maximum two number of ink dots of the same color formed on the same position. CONSTITUTION:A 2-2 dot matrix and three kinds of dark/medium/light inks are used to express 32-gradation. IN deciding a dot pattern, a patch is outputted by using various combinations of dots such as light dots only at first, light and medium dots and then medium and dark dots and then their optical reflection (O.D. value) is measured. The data are arranged in the order of the O.D. values, the combination expressed by combining light and medium dots is selected for the low density region, and the combination expressed by combining medium and dark dots is selected at a high density region. Then the dot pattern and a picture data are related so that the O.D. values and the picture data are linear. The dot patterns thus decided, dark/medium/light patterns, are written in dot pattern memories 18-1-18-3. |
