PURPOSE:To display an image read immediately and to permit processings such as shift, correction, and cut-out at that time by providing an image correction means which performs correction processing of the image data on a video RAM. CONSTITUTION:First, an image correction mechanism 3 displays a message on a display device 4. When an operator inputs the vertical and horizontal sizes of the image from a keyboard input device 1, the next message is displayed on the display device 4. When the operator specifies 'input', the image read in an image input device 7 is written in the video RAM 5, and displayed on the display device 4. If the operator selects 'cancel' at that time, the correction mechanism 3 cancels the image and deletes it from the screen. If the operator selects 'correction', ON/OFF of a bit at an arbitrary position on the image a cut-out of the image can be done.
