PURPOSE:To facilitate the motorization of a steering handle position adjusting device by unlocking the locks of a tilt and a telesco. (telescopically adjustable steering column) through the stroke of an actuating lever in the same position. CONSTITUTION:When an actuating lever 41 is turned to the B position, a nut 39 is loosened and an upper column 7 can be tilted in the upward and downward direction. Then, when the actuating lever 41 is turned further and located in the C position, locking pawls 33 and 34 are turned in the unlocking direction against a spring through an actuating member. As a result, the telescopic operation of the upper column 7 relating to a lower column 6 is enabled. In this case, a tilt is held by a detent mechanism. |
