PURPOSE:To prevent that a demodulating error of a forecasting coding system due to a signal error in the transmission line is hourly continued, in the forecasting coding system changing over plural pieces of forecasting adaptively in accordance with the character of the screen. CONSTITUTION:A reverse converting coding circuit 21 converts a code supplied from the transmission line by a line 121 to a forecasting error signal and a refreshing signal, the refreshing signal supplies to a selecting device 24 and a memory circuit 26 and a forecasting error signal supplies to an adder 22. At a decision circuit 25 of a optimum forecasting system, the forecasting signal and decoding signal decide which forecasting signal is optimum, and the result is supplied to a memory circuit 26. The circuit 26 stores the necessary part of those signals, and the signal necessary for an estimating circuit 27 to estimate the optimum forecasting system is supplied to the circuit 27. The circuit 24 selects one out of forecasting signals in accordance with the signal showing the optimum forecasting method and supplies it to an adder 22, and when the refreshing signal is supplied from a line 130, the forecasting signal based upon the forecasting system determined beforehand from a line 129 is outputted.
