PURPOSE:To minimize lost document due to a fault by providing a document preservation file section under forming to a nonvolatile memory area in addition to a conventional document file section and filing the document under forming at each prescribed time. CONSTITUTION:A CPU1 starts a timer 4 at system start and allows the timer 4 to output a file timing signal to urge the preservation of documents under forming at each prescribed time. When the CPU1 receives the said signal, the CPU1 starts a DMA controller 13 to execute the file processing of a formed document while the document is under forming and writes document information in a document data area in a RAM2 to a floppy disc via a floppy disc controller 6.
