PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of log acquisition and fault recovery processing by obtaining a field data updating quantity per record in a data managing system and acquiring all information after/before updating when the ratio of revision is large. CONSTITUTION:A data base 8 includes a relation (file) being an object of updat ing and when the user 1 inputs an updating command to a terminal device 2, a control section 4 of a relational data base management system 3 receives it and gives an output to a command analysis section 5. Then a data dictionary 7 is referenced and the log acquisition form is decided from the rate of the total sum of the updating object field length to the record length. In this case, the total sum F of the record length R and the updating object field length is obtained from a relation data of the dictionary 7, and F-R is calculated, and when it is larger than a threshold value, data form 52 obtaining the informa tion before/after updating with respect to all records is selected, and when smaller, a data form 53 decreasing the log data length is selected to reduce the processing step. |
