PURPOSE:To provide the titled compsn. having excellent electromagnetic wave- shielding properties and suitable for use as a molding material for the cabinet of electronic equipment, by blending an ABS resin, a metal salt of an ionic hydrocarbon polymer and a metallic fiber. CONSTITUTION:A metal salt of an ionic hydrocarbon polymer (e.g. a metal salt of a hydrocarbon polymer contg. pendant carboxyl groups, such as lead salt of an ethylene/methacrylic acid copolymer) is used. 100pts.wt. ABS resin, at least 0.1pt.wt. metal salt of said copolymer and 3-200pts.wt. metallic fiber (e.g. brass aluminum fiber) are melt-kneaded in a vented single-screw kneader to obtain a thermoplastic resin compsn. The matrix resin has good adhesion to the metallic fiber and hence, the resin compsn. little causes lowering in electrical conductivity, even when repeatedly exposed to rapid temperature changes. |
