PURPOSE:To provide an air conditioner in which an installing of a heat exchanger is facilitated and a trouble caused by icing is not found by a method wherein an inverted L-shaped partition plate is arranged to form a forward machine room and a rearward water flowing passage, and the heat exchanger for air conditioner is arranged with the upper forward corner of a casing and a receiving plate being connected on a diagonal line. CONSTITUTION:When rain water enters from a suction port 37 or a discharging port 35, the rain water entered from the suction port 37 is flowed on the horizontal member 42a of the partition plate 42 toward the receiving plate 46, the rain water entered from the discharging port 35 is flowed along the heat exchanger 47 toward the receiving plate 46. The rain water collected at the receiving plate 46 is flowed down from the recess hole 46a into the water flowing passage 45 and then discharged from the drain port arranged at the bottom part to the outside. Fog adhered to the heat exchanger 47 during a heating operation is defrosted when a defrosting operation is performed, directed toward the receiving plate 46 and together with the rain water it is discharged out of the room through the passage. Then, at the cold place, the flowed water is again freezed. However, due to a presence of the partition plate 42, the water is shut off and the interior of the machine chamber 43 is not freezed and of course the part near the propeller fan 40 is not freezed. |
