PURPOSE:To form exactly a stripe plating at an optional position of the surface and the rear side of a steel strip by providing a plating liquid holding groove on the surface of a roll, and placing adjacently a pair of anode rolls which have formed an electrode on the bottom part of the groove. CONSTITUTION:A plating liquid holding groove 1 is provided on the surface of a width direction of a roll, and a pair of anode rolls 3a, 3b which have placed an electrode 2 on the bottom part of the groove are made adjacent and placed in a plating liquid 4. One face of a steel strip 5 contacts to one anode roll 3a and moves by a holding roll 7a through an electricity conductive roll 6. In this case, a stripe plating corresponding to the groove 1 or an interval of the groove 1 is performed. Subsequently, the other face of the steel strip 5 contacts to the other anode roll 3b and moves, and a stripe plating is performed to the other face. Next, the steel strip moves to the outside of the plating liquid 4 through a holding roll 7b. In this way, the stripe plating is performed to an optional position by adjusting a roll position at the time of plating.
