PURPOSE:To improve the productionability in IC device selecting system by advancing/retracting a stopper if passage of IC device is not detected even after elapse of predetermined time thus applying impact and promoting droppage of IC device. CONSTITUTION:The cylinder of specific stopper STN is functioned to pull out the stopper STN from a guide groove 5 and to drop an IC device. If a sensor SN will not detect the holding IC device, the stopper STN is inserted again into a guide groove 5. If the sensor SN will keep detection of IC device even upon elapse of predetermined time after pull-out of stopper STN, it is decided to be entanglement of IC device to produce an alarm thus to advance/retract all stoppers except that STN at the deflecting section 2 and to apply impact to promote unhooking of device. With such arrangement, frequency of opening of handler is reduced thus to improve the productionability.
