PURPOSE:To manufacture at a low cost a valve which is excellent in its erosion resisting characteristic and seizure resistance by constituting the surface of a valve box of a valve and a valve seat of a valve body, of an Ni base alloy containing Cr, Nb, Mo and Fe, and an alloy steel containing Cr, Mn, Mo, etc., respectively. CONSTITUTION:As a material of a valve box 1 of a valve and valve seats 2, 4 of a valve body 3 which are used in chemical and atomic energy plants, etc., an Ni base alloy containing 15-45wt% Cr, 3-15wt% Nb, <20wt% Mo, and 3-15wt% Fe is used for the surface of one of them. The surface of the other valve seat is formed by an alloy steel containing 10-30wt% Cr, 10-30wt% Mn, <0.5wt% C, <1wt% N, or <5wt% Mo. In this way, a valve having the same excellent erosion resisting characteristic and seizure resistance as those of an expensive stellite which has been used up to the present can be manufactured at a low cost.
