PURPOSE:To provide the titled composition containing a mixture of carbohydrate, protein and oil or fat as the attracting component, optionally containing a vermin-controlling component, capable of efficiently attracting insects such as ants and being frequently carried in the nest even if the composition contains the vermin-controlling component. CONSTITUTION:A mixture of (A) carbohydrates such as fruit juice, honey, black strap molasses, maltitose, sucrose, etc., (B) animal proteins such as actin, albumin, egg, etc. or vegetable protin suc as edestin, zein, etc., and (C) oil or fat, e.g. vegetable oils such as Japan wax, coconut oil, cacao oil, etc., or animal oils such as butter fat, etc., is used as the attracting component. It is mixed optionally with a vermin-controlling component such as d-resmethrin, permethrin, etc., and is formed in the form of pellets, granules, powder, etc., and disposed to a proper place for the control of vermin. EFFECT:It exhibits excellent attracting activity and has excellent effect to kill social insects.
