PURPOSE:To perform smoothly and securely paper supply irrespective of kinds of blanks by providing in a paper supply apparatus incorporated in a printer or the like a means for variably setting the rotational speed of a paper supply roller to one suited for the paper supply according to the kinds of blanks. CONSTITUTION:A printer 8 consists of a paper supply unit 9, a platen roller 3, a clamp mechanism 10, a tray 6, etc. The paper supply unit 9 is constituted from a paper supply roller 5, a motor 11, a variable setting means 12, paper supply sensors 13, 14, etc. A variable setting means 12 sets variably the rotational speed of the paper supply roller 5 one suited for supplying a blank 7 through the paper supply roller 5 according to the kinds of blanks 7. For example, to this variable setting means 12 are connected the motor 11 and the paper supply sensors 13, 14 through a means constituted from an electric circuit. That is, when the paper supply is not carried out at a certain rotational speed, the variable setting means 12 sets variably that speed to one lower than that and raise the speed with a certain time constant in the beginning of paper supply until the roller 5 under the stopped condition reaches the variably set rotational frequency. |
