PURPOSE:To prevent a blade jumping in a rotary compressor by determining the output frequency of an inverter circuit of the compressor based on the eccentricity of the crankshaft, various conditions of a blade and a roller, and the refrigerant discharge/suction pressure of the compressor. CONSTITUTION:A variable speed rotary compressor 1 is controlled by an inverter circuit 23 based on a revolution setting command in accordance with an air conditioning load. The output frequency of the inverter circuit 23 is controlled on the basis of the eccentricity (e) of a crankshaft, the blade means (m), the angular velocity omega of a roller, the spring constant (k) of a blade spring, the difference (c) between the free length and the length in the maximum compression both of the blade spring, the sectional area A of a blade, a refrigerant discharge pressure Pd and a refrigerant suction pressure Ps so as to satisfy the condition: emomega<2k.c+A(Pd-Ps)/2. This prevents a blade from causing the jumping phenomenon.
