SINGLE-TUBED TUYERE OF STEEL MANUFACTURING VESSEL

PURPOSE:To prevent the corrosion of a single-tubed tuyere and its periphery and to regulate the flow rate of gas blown in a wide range by placing a heat insulator satisfying a specified relation between the outside diameter of the tuyere and the thickness of the insulator around the tuyere. CONSTITUTION:A single-tubed tuyere of a steel manufacturing vessel opens to a part below the standard surface of a molten iron bath in the vessel, and gas is blown into the molten iron through the tuyere under >=40kg/cm<2> pressure at the inlet of the tuyere to carry out refining. A heat insulator satisfying relation represented by an equation t/d<=2 between the outside diameter (d) of the tuyere and the thickness (t) of the insulator is placed around the tuyere.
