<p>PURPOSE:To prevent abnormal supercharged pressure, by controlling a variable volume supercharger in accordance with the load and rotational speed of an engine, and by controlling a waste gate valve in accordance with the supercharged pressure to obtain a suitable output power from the low load rotational speed range to the high load rotational speed range. CONSTITUTION:A variable volume supercharger 50 has nozzle vanes which are controlled by a change-over means 12. An exhaust system 13 incorporates a bypass system 14 bypassing the supercharger 50 and controlled by a waste gate valve. The change-over means 12 actuates the nozzle vanes in the supercharger 50 in accordance with the load and rotational speed range of the engine under the control of a control unit 17, and therefore, controls the set opening pressure of the waste gate valve which is opened by the supercharged pressure.</p> |
