GAP MEASURING INSTRUMENT

PURPOSE:To eliminate an individual difference during measurement and to facilitate the measuring operation by superposing two taper gauges which have mutual different angles and measuring a gap from their movement extent. CONSTITUTION:A gap measuring instrument 20 consists of a measurement position detection member 24 and a start point detection member 26. Detection members 24 and 126 are formed of plate materials and their tips are formed in V shapes. The gap measuring instrument 20 is inserted into the gap 10 to be measured from the tip part and pressed against the detection member 24 slightly, and then the detection member 24 moves against an automatic restoring device 22. The detection member 24 is further pressed in and then contacts the edge 8 of the gap 10, so that it can not be inserted further. The size of the gap 10 is read on a conversion scale 28 on the basis of the movement extent at this time.
