PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal transfer printer capable of giving good-quality pictures when recording is made on OHP papers by a method in which when recording is made on OHP paper, recording conditions are corrected so as to lengthen the moving time of paper. CONSTITUTION:A sensor 11 to judge whether OHP paper is present in the running path leading to a thermal head 4 is provided. For OHP papers, control is made to lengthen the moving time of paper from the recording point A to the separating point B by the output of the sensor 11. It is judged whether the paper used is OHP paper or not when recording paper is supplied. In the case of OHP paper, since the moving time of paper from the point A to the point B can be lengthened, ink can be exactly fixed to OHP paper. Good recording can thus be made on OHP paper to obtain good-quality print. |
