The invention relates to a novel variety of Mimosa floribunda, named Cartif, whose main characteristics are staggered flowering, a particular arrangement of the flowers in the form of spikes, and an entirely remarkable ability for being grown in the form of a pot-plant. The most interesting applications of the invention relate to large-scale ornamentation by means of a very decorative mimosa variety which is suitable for being marketed in the form of a pot-plant.
