PURPOSE:To make a car speed shiftable quickly even in both cases of up and down shifts, by increasing hydraulic pressure in one side pulley cylinder chamber, while decreasing that in the other side pulley cylinder chamber. CONSTITUTION:In the case where an up-shift speed change takes place quickly, a port 162b and a port 162c are interconnected with each other, whereby line pressure acts on a driving pulley cylinder chamber 20 via an oil passage 176. On the other hand, a port 162e is interconnected to a port 1762d, while hydraulic pressure in a driven pulley cylinder chamber 32 is discharged out of the drain port 172e and becomes smaller than the line pressure. Therefor, groove spaces of a driven pulley 26 are quickly expanded wide and simultaneously groove spaces of a driving pulley 16 are reduced. Thus, in case of quick speed shift, it can be done in a manner conformable to both up-shift and down-shift cases. |
