PURPOSE:To enhance the clearness of print during high-speed printing operations as well as the heat resistance of an ink ribbon by using a polyamide filament yarn composed primarily of polytetramethylene adipamide. CONSTITUTION:A woven fabric of polyamide filament yarns containing at least 90wt% polytetramethylene adipamide (nylon-46) is cut into a tape form in such a way that he lengthwise direction of the fabric corresponds with warp yarn direction. An ink is impregnated into the woven fabric to form an ink ribbon. The polyamide filament used has a dry-heat shrinkage of 5.0% or less, a breaking strength of 4.0g/d or more, and an elongation of 10-30%. The preferred size of the filament yarn is 20-100 denier, with a bundle of 10-200 filaments. The preferred density of the woven fabric constituting the ink ribbon is considered to correspond with the total sum (K=1,800 or more) of the cover factor of warp and filling yarns. |
