PURPOSE:To simplify the high-precision work of the front end position of a ferromagnetic oxide near of a gap and its production process by forming a ferromagnetic metallic thin film on a slope to a magnetic gap face and forming the second groove which controls the track width near this slope. CONSTITUTION:The slope 3 of each groove 2 formed in a ferromagnetic oxide substrate 1 is set at 20-80 deg. to an upper face 1a, and nonmagnetic materials 6 are packed in the groove 2 after the ferromagnetic metallic thin film 5 is coated on the surface of the slope 3. Grooves 7 are so formed that they coincide with end parts 5a of thin films 5 approximately, and a winding groove 11 and one block is put on the other and is adhered to it, and these blocks are sliced in positions (a) and a' after nonmagnetic materials 13 are packed in grooves 7. Thus, a magnetic gap 23 is formed with the metallic thin film 5, and the cut position of the groove 7 is controlled to produce a track width Tw with a high precision, and the yield is improved, and the Q output is increased, and the reliability is improved, and the cost is reduced. |
