Device 1 for the piercing of holes 2 in cigarettes 3 or similar smoking products, in which device a laser beam 7 emitted by a continuous laser source 6 is directed, by a mobile reflecting and focusing assembly 22 mounted rotatably on an axis 9 and a fixed reflecting element 23 placed upon this axis 9, onto the cigarettes 3 while the latter rotate about their axis and move perpendicularly thereto, being carried by a drum 5 which rotates about the axis 9 of the beam 7. The mobile assembly 22 receives the laser beam 7 on the axis 9 and reflects it first in an outward direction and then towards the latter. The focused beam 7 is reflected onto the cigarettes 3 by a circle of mirrors 25 with which the reflecting element 23 is provided. <IMAGE>
