PURPOSE:To make a sudden drop in an engine speed preventable from occurring, by installing a flow limiting device which restricts a flow of oil to be fed to a driving pulley cylinder chamber, while letting hydraulic pressure in the driving pulley cylinder chamber go up slowly. CONSTITUTION:In case of up-shift speed, a spool 174 moves, enlarging a clearance interconnecting a port 172b and a port 172c, and simultaneously reducing another clearance interconnecting the port 172b and a port 172a. Therefore, hydraulic pressure in a driving pulley cylinder chamber slowly goes up. For this reason, when the hydraulic pressure in the driving pulley cylinder chamber goes up like this, a transmission gear ratio comes to be small but the hydraulic pressure in the driving pulley cylinder chamber gradually goes up so that speed change takes place slowly. And with this, an engine speed slowly comes to go down in consequence.
